Compensation:

  • $182,000 – $260,000/year (depending on experience and skills and agreed upon hours/schedule
  • Medical/PTO/CME/Malpractice Benefits 
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 2 year contract (½ paid on paycheck following first day of employment, the second ½ paid at your 1 year anniversary)

Position Highlights:

  • Providing primary care to a rural population of all ages. Our providers provide a full range of family medicine services including pediatrics, adult medicine, geriatrics, some acute care, and referrals to specialists.
  • Offering a flexible work schedule that includes a combination of work from home (telehealth) and in clinic days.
  • Offering a great work environment with a skilled and positive team that includes Medical Assistants, a Behavioral Health Consultant, an RN, a Community Health Worker, and a great front office team. 
  • Our clinical workforce is very team oriented and includes PA’s, NP’s and MD’s company wide. 
  • Our focus is on quality and relationships instead of volume - our PCPs see an average of 11 patient visits per 8 hr shift. 
  • We offer a flexible schedule. Our PCP providers are generally scheduled to have ~ 75% of their scheduled hours available for direct patient care. The remaining 25% shall be made available for care coordination, team huddles and/or meetings, community health initiatives, charting, and other project-based work. 
  • We provide primary care to patients in a professional and personable manner, leading to trust, engagement, and positive health outcomes for patients. Our providers show compassion for and take a Trauma Informed Care approach with all patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to patient lab, imaging, and referral results daily within 24 hours on days scheduled to be in clinic.
  • Respond to patient queries and cases daily when scheduled to be in the clinic.
  • Complete patient charts within three days of providing a visit to a patient.
  • Work to meet productivity targets as agreed upon by the Leadership Team.
  • Create and maintain thorough patient records containing orders for prescription drugs, referrals, thorough health history, detailed HPI, and other patient-related information.  
  • Maintain chart notes comprehensively, with proper management of Problem Lists and Medication Lists, and active involvement in the development and maintenance of Patient Care Plans.
  • Follow Clinical Guidelines for the management of patient health issues in a competent manner.  
  • Be available for clinical consultation with other health care providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and behavioral health providers.
  • Adhere to policies in managing patients being prescribed Controlled Substances.
  • Comply with all appropriate requirements for clinic quality assurance and certification.
  • Maintain licensure and certification and follow all necessary measures to maintain and demonstrate competency as dictated by medical specialty boards and the Oregon Medical Board (OMB).
  • Maintain certification and licensure through the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for prescribing controlled substances.

Required Qualifications:

  • Board certified, or board eligible in family medicine, med peds, or other primary care services.
  • Chronic care management, pain management and integrated behavioral health experience preferred. 
  • Rural Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must have BLS, DEA certificate and OR license upon start.
  • Malpractice claim history will be examined and a background check will be performed.
 

Work Environment:

While in the clinic, team members may be exposed to viruses, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in the working environment. Team members may be required to work for extended periods of time at a computer. Team members use standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and e-fax.

Physical Demands: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and crouching, as well as lifting and supporting patients. Computer work is required for in-clinic positions. Light to moderate lifting may be required.

Travel: 

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area may be expected on occasion (CME events, or activities involving other Orchid Health Clinics).
